Fentanyl Awareness: Honoring Nichole “Cole” Zimmerman

Nichole on the beach.

One Pill Can Take a Life. One Story Can Save One.

Fentanyl awareness, Cole's Cause

Our Mission:

Our mission is simple but urgent: educate, protect, and prevent. Cole's Cause works tirelessly to inform families, schools, and communities about the dangers of fentanyl through impactful fentanyl awareness campaigns. We aim to support families impacted by fentanyl while providing essential resources to stop future tragedies before they happen, inspired by the work of Nichole Zimmerman.

Fentanyl steals mothers, sisters and daughters:

Her Life. Her Story. Her Legacy.

Cole's Cause, fentanyl awareness, Nichole Zimmerman

Nichole 'Cole' Zimmerman was a radiant light in the lives of everyone she touched. A loving daughter, sister, and mother, she was filled with laughter, creativity, and dreams. Tragically, on December 28, 2023, a single counterfeit pill laced with fentanyl ended her life and changed ours forever. In her memory, we must support families impacted by fentanyl and raise awareness through fentanyl awareness campaigns to prevent such tragedies.

A Beautiful Life, Gone Too Soon.

Nichole Zimmerman had a contagious smile and a heart full of compassion. She loved her family fiercely, all creatures great and small, and embraced life's little joys. Every tattoo told a story, and through fentanyl awareness campaigns, we aim to share her story. We carry those stories forward to support families impacted by fentanyl because her life deserves to be remembered for more than the tragedy that took her.

One Pill Shouldn't Be a Death Sentence

On that December day, Nichole Zimmerman unknowingly took a counterfeit pill containing fentanyl. She didn't stand a chance. The toxicology report indicated that she had consumed a dose of fentanyl lethal enough to kill 20 people. She thought she was taking a xanax before a nap. Her passing is a part of a national epidemic that claims hundreds of lives in Ohio and thousands nationally every year. Over 150 people die every day in the United States, devastating families all across the nation. Imagine if an airliner crashed every day, yet you never heard about it.

This isn't just about "overdoses." These deaths are poisonings, and they are preventable with enough education and awareness, such as through fentanyl awareness campaigns aimed at supporting families impacted by fentanyl.
